About

Coloratura soprano, Victoria Marie M. Olson, is a highly sought-after and versatile artist celebrated for her work in both traditional and new music. She specializes in music of the Baroque era, with particular interest in cantatas, oratorios, and chamber works. Her performance career has taken her throughout the Midwest and across Eastern Europe as a featured soloist.

Favorite leading roles include Nella in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi with the Varna International Music Academy, and the Queen of the Night (Königin der Nacht) in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte with Landlocked Opera of Kansas City and Heartland Opera Theatre. Ms. Olson is a frequent and valued collaborator in concerts, recitals, and large-scale projects throughout the region. She is also a founding member of two Kansas City–based professional ensembles: Astra Ensemble and Re:Sound.

Ms. Olson earned both her Master of Music and Artist’s Certificate with an emphasis in Baroque Studies from the University of Missouri–Kansas City Conservatory, where she studied under Dr. Aidan Soder and Professor Dale Morehouse. She completed her Bachelor of Music in Music Education at the University of Nebraska–Omaha, where she served as president of the university choirs and as student chapter president of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) for two years. During her tenure, she recruited over 40 members and represented the university at regional and national ACDA conferences as both a selected ensemble member and soloist.

In addition to her performance career, Ms. Olson is passionate about music education and has served as a clinician, adjudicator, and private voice instructor across the Midwest.

By day, Victoria works as an Admitting Supervisor at Indian Creek Hospital within the University of Kansas Health System, while continuing to maintain an active career as a collaborating soprano. She also directs a thriving private voice studio and serves as soprano section leader at Atonement Lutheran Church in Overland Park, Kansas. Victoria looks forward to continuing her work with colleagues and students alike—sharing her love of singing and fostering musical connection wherever she goes.
